Margot O’Donoghue
After a business related career and whilst bringing up her family, Margot returned to studying and obtained a BSc (Hon) in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Psychoanalysis and trained as a psychoanalyst with the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR). During her training she worked two and half years in Holloway Prison with inmates held for various crimes.

Since qualifying for UKCP registration in 2001, Margot has worked in private practice with clients from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds. She also was a founder member of the London Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a non-profit organisation offering counselling and psychotherapy to include low-income clients. Furthermore, she has set up and runs Psychological Services, a referral agency putting people in touch with professionals nationwide.

In her private practice Margot has worked short and long-term with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, lack of self esteem, relationship issues, stress including post-traumatic stress, anger issues, obsessional behaviour, eating disorders, bereavement, gender issues and loss of sexual desire. Furthermore, clients who have moved abroad can continue their sessions with her on Skype.

Margot is a member of the UKCP and the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College, as well as a member of CFAR (Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research). She also holds a Diploma in Gambling Addiction Counselling and a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She practices from our locations in Regent Street and Barnet, offering both short-term and long term counselling and psychotherapy.
